For years now, I have used my talent to help with fundraising for different political, social and religious organizations by doing these portrait sketches. I realized that most professional artists would not use their talents in this way but I find it is a wonderful opportunity to be in the community and give back to people that want to help and receive by giving. We all win!
I have created paintings for different religious and social organizations. ‘The Madonna’ for the New Camaldoli Hermitage, a portrait of ‘Guru Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’ for the Shakyamuni Buddhist Center, and the painting of ‘Faces of St. Martin’s’ for the homeless shelter with the same name. These and many other institutions have given me so much inspiration and support that I feel that this is a small gift in return for giving me the opportunity to be part of their communities.
